Helmet tour canceled – new Foreigner song – new Testament 2025? – new Fimbul Winter – Deep Purple booked for years – Dimmu Borgir lose a member
Helmet‘s planned fall tour with Local H has been cancelled due to financial concerns. That tour was to run September 19th through to October 5th.the band stated:
“Helmet regrets to announce we are having to cancel the upcoming US tour with Local H. The cancellation is caused by a mix of significant financial concerns and lower than expected ticket sales which is a common problem for many artists this year. We look forward to getting back out on the road in 2025. In the meantime, our European Tour this November goes ahead as planned.

Dimmu Borgir guitarist Galder who is Thomas Rune Anderson … has announced he is leaving the band … . Galder has been a member of the band since 2000 up until now, appearing on many albums .. A statement was released by Galder, August 18th and stated:

Yesterday I played my last show with Dimmu Borgir. After almost 25 years of making music and playing with Dimmu Borgir I have decided to leave the band.
I have been thinking about this for years and as many of you have been pointing out – it’s time for Old Man’s Child to get on stage again and finalizing the new album.
I wish the best for the other members of the band moving forward.

get set for the new band that has 3 former Amon Amarth members the new band is called Fimbul Winter. .. it has Fredrik Andersson, … Niko Kaukinen and Anders Biazzi, who played rhythm guitar for Amon Amarth from 1992-1998.

Joining the amon Amarth alumni are vocalist Clint Williams and bassist Gustav Myrin. The band are set to make their live debut at the ‘Close-Up Båten‘ cruise, which will sail from Stockholm, SWE to Tallinn, Estonia from September 6th to 8th.

SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” had a chat with DEEP PURPLE vocalist Ian Gillan and asked about retirement … Gillan stated (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I said, Okay, we’ll call it a ‘goodbye’ tour, but let’s call it ‘the long goodbye’, and let’s make the emphasis on the word ‘long’,’ so it’s kind of an enigmatic phrase.”
“There’s no intention to stop. At the moment… I spoke to my manager the other day. I’ve got some solo project. he siad ‘You’re gonna have to put ’em back,’ and I’m putting them back years. We’re already booked to the end of ’26, in the planning stage, in the diary, with all the projects we’ve got for DEEP PURPLE. So, yeah, years to come, hopefully.”
