it appears that a side project may be in the works between Slipknot‘s vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root … they play in Stone Sour already however do they have something else up their sleeve ..?

Corey Taylor spoke to Metal Hammer recently and said they have been discussing a new side project together.

KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque spoke to the “Heels And Quads” about the new album. titled “The Institute”, KING DIAMOND’s first studio album in 16 years which is hopefully out in 2023 through Metal Blade
Andy said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “KING DIAMOND is focused on [MERCYFUL] FATE right now, but we’ve been talking a little bit about that. I sent him a bunch of songs in January that we started working on, arrangement-wise, in the springtime. But then MERCYFUL FATE came in between. So as soon as they’re done with [the MERCYFUL FATE tour] in the fall, we’re gonna pick that up again and continue. So we have a bunch of songs. And then also King will write a few songs too, of course. So there will be plenty of songs to put on the album, that’s for sure. So, yeah, we’re definitely working on it.”

in sad news this week… SOILWORK have announced that their guitarist David Andersson has passed away he was 47 years old…

the band posted (see link below): “We are deeply saddened today, as we bring the terrible news of David Andersson’s passing. He was one of a kind and a brilliant man in so many ways. He was our guitarist for more than 10 years and had a big impact on SOILWORK’s musical journey forward. Sadly alcohol and mental illness took you away from us. We will miss him dearly and will continue to carry the musical legacy that he was a part of. Our deepest condolences goes out to his family. Forever grateful for the time we spent with you and all the good laughs.
