Classic Rock – Fact And Tradition

Classic rock is really a radio format developed during the early 1980s from the album oriented rock. It was originally developed as being an oldies format in United States of America displaying the British Invasion era music in the 1960s. In 1970s and 1980s the classic rock re-creates the sounds of album oriented rock stations. The sounds of re-create of rock stations in 1970s and 1980s mainly appeals the adults than the teenagers, though the there are many rock sound which appeals to the modern generation. There are many stations which plays the limited version of classic rock sounds or from the new classic sounds produce by the rock artists. Rock music is a genuine popular music which was originated from “rock and roll”. The classic rock song is usually surrounded with electric guitars, bass guitars and drums.

WSYP in Philadelphia gas introduced the nation’s first  rock station on 1981. The featured artists on the reel were the Zombies, Beatles, Yardbirds, Young Rascals, Byrds and many more. The nation’s first rock station was rocked with great rocking bands and the rock artists. KRBE, Houston was another classic rock music radio station. In 1983 Program Director Paul Christy designed which only plays the classic rock album from 1970s and 1980s. The term ‘classic rock” for the first used in the by the classic rock station KRBE, it was them became the widely used descriptor and became the most commonly used word among the general public in the album rock music. Typically, classic rock station play the rock songs from mid of 1960s-1980s, classic rock also focuses on various rock bands and also on the artists who are not radio friendly and only applicable for oldies.

Like AOR, which use to play all types rock sounds, the rock station plays only a limited version of rock sound from the playlists, which are popular to the public. Also there are many classic stations which use to concentrate in lesser known classic tracks and B-sides. The classic music itself has influenced with blues, rhythm and country music, which appeals the younger generations towards itself. Basically there are three types of  rock, they are, traditional which belongs to 1960s-1980s, late 1970s-2000s and at last active. Actives are those which, is a mixture of classic hits and the modern songs and this are not taken into consideration as a classic rocks as these does not contains the actual flavors of classics which actually public demands and traditionally and commonly known to them. A male and adult is mostly tailored for classic rock, but sometimes a female and younger is also tailored in some significant fan base. Now at present days, there is huge change in rock, it has been mixed up with glam metals and death rocks. But the fact is, again they are not accepted as classic rocks as they lacks the flavors.
